Sarah Coonan
Sarah graduated from Gray's School of art in 2010 and has since
continued to produce her ceramic work showing it across the country.
Below she explains more about her work.
"I design contemporary pieces suitable for one off or limited edition
production. I aim to create simple forms, playing with the idea that fine
art and design are unified, rather than unconnected. Japanese ceramics
highly influence me with the two dimensional images being transferred
onto streamline ceramic forms flawlessly.
Focusing on the beauty of surface decoration, I transfer hand-drawn
images from two to three dimensions using recently developed
techniques. My inspiration evolved from the work of various poets
including Jacques Prévert and Andrew Motion."
