What's On!

Artist in the Spotlight...

17th September - 29th October

Returning to the gallery with new work is;

Diane was born in Falkirk and studied ceramics and silversmithing at Falkirk College before going on to gain a fine art Drawing & Painting degree from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee.
She now lives in Aberdeen where she works as an Exhibitions Officer for Aberdeen City Council and continues to paint at her WASPS studios on Shore Lane.
Diane is influenced by weathering effects, light, colour, pattern and textures observed in the natural environment. Her paintings explore a sense of place by using layers of paint and pigment, other mixed media and hidden layers are exposed by scraping back and uncovering previous marks and colour.
Recent work has been influenced by visits to the West Coast of Scotland. Sand collected on these trips has made its way into her work to create textures and a connection with the environment.
Diane's new work will be on display from Saturday the 17th Sept, please pop in for a closer look
